Improv Advanced Class The ACME Improv Advanced Class is designed to hone your improvisational skills to a razor sharp edge in an ongoing series of classes covering a wide range of exercises, techniques and formats. The Improv Advanced Class is perfect for experienced improvisational performers who want to brush up on skills, and for those who want to push their talents to the next level. Classes focus on ACME’s improvisational storytelling theory in greater depth as well as delve into a broad offering of advanced improv tools on a rotating schedule, presented by ACME's cadre of premier improv instructors. Requirements No audition is required to enroll in the Improv Advanced Class, however participants must first complete the ACME Improv Elements Class, OR complete at least an intermediate-level improv course at one of these schools: Groundlings, Second City, UCB, or Improv Olympic (verification of course completion will be requested). In general, we recommend starting with the Improv Elements Class, even for those with improv experience, because it provides a common foundation and vocabulary for ACME's storytelling approach to improv skills and performance, and it will help you get the most out of the entire ACME improv program. Class Schedule The 8-week class is a series of 3-hour sessions which meet on Sundays from 1 to 4 PM at the ACME Comedy Theatre. Those interested in joining an ACME improv performance company must complete the ACME Improv Performance Course. Students are eligible to join the Improv Performance Course when the instructor and student both feel the student is ready to do so; for some people that may occur after 8 weeks, and for others it may occur after more class sessions. Enrollment You can join the Improv Advanced Class at the beginning of any 8-week session. See the registration page for session start dates. The tuition for the Improv Advanced Series is $350.
